The Bactiguard® coating is unique and innovative in the sense that it combines antimicrobial and biocompatible properties in a way that makes it ideal for preventing device related infections without causing unwanted side-effects. Behind the success of the clinically proven Bactiguard® coating stands almost 30 years of research and a multidisciplinary R&D team with long experience within the following areas:

The coating can be applied on all relevant materials used in the medical device field. This includes polymers, metals, fabrics, glass and ceramics. The environmentally and user-friendly process is ideal for a large-scale production even for complex geometries.

For a potentially new application / customer Bactiguard has all the expertise and resources that is required to perform a first validation of a new product including evaluation of material composition and properties, surface modification / substrate optimization, initial coating development, and evaluation of antimicrobial and biocompatible properties. When successful this may be followed by a milestone driven, exclusive, full-scale development project including coating optimization, process scale up and automation, and a full evaluation of antimicrobial and biocompatible properties.

Bactiguard also offers expertise within clinical trials, regulatory affairs and project management.
