Great interest in infection prevention at Arab Health

For the ninth year in a row Bactiguard exhibited at one of the world’s largest conferences for the healthcare sector and made a great impression on the Ministry of Health in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

”Arab Health is an important platform for us, where we can meet our distributors and suppliers and at the same time establish new contacts to develop our business, says Cecilia Edström, Head of Sales and New Business at Bactiguard and continues: ”There is a great and steadily growing interest in infection prevention and we have received a tremendous amount of questions and requests during these days in Dubai”.

Arab Health is one of the most important annual meetings since the Middle East is Bactiguard’s most established market. After eight years, a solid platform has been built and visitors now expect to find Bactiguard’s solution for infection prevention in Saeed Hall 3. A little further into the same hall, visitors could find the Swedish companies Getinge and Elekta.

Bactiguard was one of the select companies representing Sweden in a meeting with the Ministry of Health in the United Arab Emirates. First in line was Cecilia Edström, representing Bactiguard. The Ministry of Health showed a great interest in infection prevention and Ms. Edström received a lot of questions about the possibilities to prevent healthcare associated infections.

Jan Thesleff, the Swedish ambassador at the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain visited Bactiguard’s booth on Monday and had intensive discussions with CEO Christian Kinch.

Bactiguard took the opportunity to gather its distributors in the region for a joint meeting ahead of the congress. Both to further strengthen relations and exchange experiences and to provide all distributors with new marketing- and sales tools.

Arab Health took place in Dubai on January 25 – 28, 2016 and had about 130 000 visitors from more than 160 countries.  The exhibition included around 4 000 exhibitors, showcasing the latest innovations in hospital equipment, medical technology and medical devices. 36 countries had their own pavilions. Business Sweden was hosting the Swedish pavilion, which gathered a number of Swedish companies, showcasing Swedish innovations and new solutions to the global health challenges.
