Peru delegation with a view to cooperation

This week, Bactiguard hosted a Peruvian healthcare delegation, studying the benefits of the Swedish triple helix model, i.e. the interaction between the healthcare system, academia and industry. The Peruvian delegation, organized by Business Sweden, consisted of representatives of the Ministry of Health and doctors from the National Cancer Institute of Peru.

The agenda for the three-day visit included roundtable discussions on the Swedish and Peruvian healthcare systems, field visits to the Karolinska and Akademiska University Hospitals, as well as to private clinics and companies in the life science sector. The purpose of the visit was to identify potential areas of cooperation and new partnerships both within academia, the healthcare sector and industry.

Bactiguard was one of the companies represented, together with Elekta, Gynius and Mölnlycke Health Care. The delegates were very interested in the Bactiguard solution for infection protection and its almost unlimited application potential to other medical devices

Bactiguard’s mission is to prevent healthcare associated infection. Therefore, we take every opportunity to interact with policy makers, doctors and other companies who are interested in working proactively to prevent these infections. Peru is a sizeable Latin American market and we recently took the decision to explore its potential, says Cecilia Edström, Vice President- Director of Sales and New Business.
