In collaboration with the Swedish Urological Society (SUF), Bactiguard has awarded a scholarship of SEK 10 000 to Klara Elfsten and Pernilla Sundqvist from the Urological Clinic at the University Hospital of Örebro. The award ceremony took place during the closing of the Urology Days (Urologidagarna) in Gothenburg last week.
The purpose of Bactiguard’s scholarship is to inspire research that promotes Bactiguard’s vision:
to eliminate healthcare associated infections.
All members of the Swedish Urological Society (SUF) can apply for the scholarship by submitting their abstract. After all applications are submitted, SUF´s scientific jury and Bactiguard appoint the winner of Best Abstract.
This year’s award winners were Klara Elfsten and Pernilla Sundqvist, from the Urological Clinic at the University Hospital in Örebro. They received the award for their abstract: The mapping of complications related to nephropyelostomy.
Bactiguard’s vision is to eliminate healthcare associated infections in order to save lives, reduce costs and limit the development of antibiotic resistance. The work being done in Örebro shows a high risk group for infection and sepsis among urology patients, which we hope can be addressed by various preventive methods in the future.
