Latin America and the imminent sales start in Chile and Brazil was the focus of Bactiguard’s attention in the second week of October. In March 2014, Bactiguard signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Promedon for Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico and now, two of these markets are ready to launch.
A two-day interactive sales training session was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where commercial and business development managers of Promedon were trained in the challenge of preventing healthcare associated infections, as well as in the key features of the Bactiguard@ technology and medical devices. The teams also discussed sales strategy, priorities and key messages.
“Reducing healthcare associated infections and preventing antimicrobial resistance is a global challenge. Promedon sees great potential in offering Bactiguard’s solutions for infection prevention to hospitals and patients in Brazil and aims to become a market leader in this market segment. There is a substantial unmet need to increase patient safety by reducing infections, reducing the use of antibiotics as well as healthcare spending in Brazil and the other Latin American countries,” says Hernán Lucero Giai, CEO of Promedon Brasil.
In connection with the training, members of the joint Promedon Bactiguard team, led by Hernán Lucero Giai, CEO of Promedon Brasil, visited Hospital Sírio-Libanês. The Syrian-Lebanese Hospital is one of the leading hospitals in Brazil and South America, founded in 1921 and well-known for its quality of care.
Promedon is an international company present in more than 50 countries and a leader in research, development and production of innovative medical technology. It is also a leading distributor of medical solutions in the Latin American market. Promedon will be marketing and selling Bactiguard’s complete portfolio of medical devices for infection control, including urinary, intravenous and respiratory catheters in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico.
