Bactiguard advances to Allbright’s green list, including the most equal listed Swedish companies. With a female CEO, 50 percent women in the management team and two female board members, Bactiguard climbs from position 132 to 57 among 329 listed companies.
During the year, 20 companies advanced from Allbright’s yellow list to the equal green list. Among them, the industrial group Haldex and the medical device company Bactiguard. These companies in particular also serve as extra good examples, as both have a female CEO. According to statistics, this benefits a broader recruitment, as companies with a female CEO more often and faster become more equal in the management team as a whole,” quote from the Allbright report.
The corona crisis has halted the progress for gender equality in Swedish business, according to this year’s Allbright report. The red list of companies that completely lack women in management is growing. No industry segment reaches the level for equal gender distribution. The proportion of woman in CEO positions and on the boards, stands still on 34 percent for the third year in a row.
Bactiguard moves in the opposite direction and climbs several steps to place 57 (132) on Allbright’s list, which covers all companies on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. At Bactiguard, there is a wide diversity of employees with different nationalities and backgrounds. In February, Cecilia Edström was appointed CEO and in August, Gabriella Björknert Caracciolo took on the role of CFO. The management team now has as many women as men. Two out of the five board members are women, and since 2018 the Nomination Committee’s work has also been led by a woman.
Allbright annually ranks the companies on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, from an equality perspective. The most equal companies are found on Allbrights green list, while less equal are placed on the yellow list and the male-dominated companies end up in the red list.
The Allbright report 2020 briefly shows that:
- The proportion of women in the stock exchange’s management groups increases by one percentage point – from 24 to 25 percent.
- The proportion of equal companies remains at 19 percent for the second year in a row.
- The companies that completely lack women in the management team increased during the year, an increase from 20 to 21 percent among the listed companies.
- At board level and in CEO positions, the development has been stagnant for the past three years.
- No industry segment reaches the level for equal gender distribution. The largest drop is seen in the consumer services industry, which during the year reduced the proportion of leading women by six percentage points.
