The World Health Assembly Side Event on Sepsis will take place on May 24th in Geneva. It will be jointly hosted by the Global Sepsis Alliance, the German Ministry of Health and the International Alliance of Patients’ Organizations. This event is taking place on the occasion of the 70th World Health Assembly passing a resolution on sepsis, which was unanimously recommend by the WHO Executive Board. The World Health Assembly is the decision-making body of WHO.
The resolution urges member states to develop training for all health professionals on infection prevention and patient safety. This will be a giant step in the fight against sepsis. Margaret Chan, Director-General of the WHO, and other high-ranking policy makers, supporters, and sepsis survivors will address why the resolution on sepsis is so important in the global fight against sepsis and what the next steps need to be.
Bactiguard is attending the event as we are proud sponsors of World Sepsis Day, which is initiated by the Global Sepsis Alliance. Bactiguard is not only committed to raising awareness but also to contributing to the reduction of infections and sepsis through our Bactiguard Infection Protection portfolio and professional training programme (BIP CIP), which address the most common hospital-acquired infections.
