Growing interest in infection prevention in the Middle East

Regulatory

Bactiguard has received an order from the Middle East, comprising 2 000 central venous catheters (BIP CVC) and 20 000 Foleys (BIP Foley). The delivery will take place before the end of the year.

The Middle East is one of Bactiguard’s focus markets and continues to generate repeat orders, so far primarily of Foley catheters. There is a growing interest from the healthcare sector in the region to use Bactiguard’s products in preventing healthcare associated infections.

“We are very pleased that we have received a large order for central venous catheters, preventing catheter-related bloodstream infections, a severe condition. Preventive measures are becoming more important as antibiotic resistance is increasing and Bactiguard’s products can make a major difference to exposed patients”, says Cecilia Edström, Director of Sales & New Business.
