Bactiguard in collaboration with the University of Gothenburg (Biomatcell), has been published in the scientific journal Nanomedicine. The title of the publication is “Osseointegration of titanium with an antimicrobial nanostructured noble metal coating”. It shows for the first time, that the Bactiguard coating applied to titanium implants both show a good bone response in vivo, and at the same time reduces bacterial adhesion, thereby potentially reducing the risk of an implant-related infection.
